Privacy Policy

PDFToolkit provides free PDF tools — including Merge PDF and Split PDF — that run entirely in your web browser. This page explains what that means for your data.

Your files never leave your device

All PDF processing happens client-side, using JavaScript running in your own browser. When you add a file to Merge PDF or Split PDF, it is read directly into your browser's memory and processed there. At no point is your file transmitted to, or stored on, any PDFToolkit server. We simply don't have a mechanism to receive your documents.

What we don't collect

Standard web analytics

Like most websites, we may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics (such as aggregate page-view counts) to understand which pages are used, and standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability purposes. These logs relate to your visit to the website itself, not to the contents of any PDF file you process, which never reaches our servers.

Cookies

PDFToolkit does not use tracking cookies to build advertising profiles. Any cookies in use are limited to essential functionality, such as remembering basic site preferences.

Third-party libraries

Our tools load open-source JavaScript libraries (for reading and writing PDF files, and for zipping results) from public content delivery networks. These libraries run locally in your browser to perform the merge or split operation and do not transmit your file data elsewhere.
